St. Joseph Catholic School Have-A-Heart Auction

Save the Date!

IT IS COMING! The 42nd Annual HAVE-A-HEART Auction is Coming!

Unfortunately, we are not quite in a position to host a crowded event like has been done in the past. Therefore, we are planning an ONLINE auction that will run the week of February 13, ending on Saturday February 19. More details will be announced, or posted on www.stjoesauction.com, as we draw closer to the auction.

WE NEED ALL FAMILIES TO HELP WITH PROCUREMENT

The Have-A-Heart Auction is our school’s major fundraiser of the year. This year’s goal is to raise over $130,000; however, we can only reach that goal with the help of our school families. These funds defer the cost of running and maintaining the school, which helps to keep tuition low so we can provide an excellent Catholic education to people with diverse economic backgrounds.

However, to ensure the success of this annual event, we need your help. We ask that ALL families assist with providing items for our auction. This can be done in the following ways:

  1. Purchasing items to donate for our auction;
  2. Asking local businesses to donate goods and/or services;
  3. Making a cash donation to the school in lieu of procuring items; and/or
  4. Contributing towards classroom projects/baskets

Acquiring donations for your student’s auction class project/basket and other desirable goods/services is a big part of making this annual event a success. Please see the “procurement guidelines” below and click the button for the donation “wish list” for details and ideas. If you are uncertain of how you can help with procurement, or have any questions, please contact me, and I would be happy to assist you.

Thank you again for all of your support. May God bless your families and may God bless our school!

2022 Have-A-Heart Auction - Procurement Guidelines

WE NEED EVERYONE'S HELP!

The Have-A-Heart Auction is our school's major fundraiser of the year with most of the money generated at this event coming from auctioning off items that are donated from local area businesses or provided by school families. Therefore, to ensure the success of this annual event, we ask that ALL families assist with providing items for our auction.

Option #1: Purchasing goods and/or services to donate for our auction.

You can purchase gift cards to restaurants, tickets to a sporting event, electronics, games, sporting equipment...anything you think people would buy! Click the button at the bottom of the page to see our auction item "wish list" for ideas.

After you have your purchased items, you can fill out a procurement form (available upon request or from the school office) with a description of each item and its fair market value. Completed forms and items are then returned to the school office.

Option #2: Asking local businesses to donate goods and/or services.

Many local businesses are happy to provide donations to local non-profit businesses like our school! We can provide the names of businesses that regularly donate to our event, or you can choose businesses with which you are familiar. A donation from your own personal, or family, business would also be appreciated.

If you plan on approaching a business, please review the procurement sign-up sheet to make sure that there isn't somebody who is already planning on contacting them, or contact me so I can track who is contacting which businesses. Please review the following procurement sign-up sheet for businesses from which to procure items or follow our QR code on our wish list. Make sure to put your name and contact info next to the business you will be contacting. This is helpful so that we don't have multiple people asking the same business for a donation. Also, please add any new businesses to the list from which you will procure donations. Thank you.

Once you have received your donated items, you can fill out a procurement form (available upon request or at the school office) with a description of each item and its fair market value. Completed forms and items are then returned to the school office. Carbon copies of the procurement form should be provided to the donating business for their tax records prior to picking up the donated item(s).

For Options #1 and #2, our goal is to procure 3 or more items with a collective minimum value of $300 (eg., three $100 gift cards).

Option #3: Making a cash donation to the school in lieu of procuring items.

If you do not have the time to assist with procuring items for the auction, we would ask that you provide a cash donation to the school. This money is used to supplement auction items presented at the event and also helps to offset the cost of putting on the auction. We recommend that families choosing this option provide a donation of $300. Checks can be made out to St. Joseph Catholic School, notated as “for auction procurement” in the memo line and sent to either the school or church offices.

All families that have auction items or cash donations turned in before December 17 will be entered into a drawing for a $50 VISA gift card! Please contact me with any questions or concerns.
