The mission of St. Joseph Catholic School is to use the knowledge of God’s love to educate the whole child by instilling strong moral values, respecting and serving our diverse community, and achieving academic excellence for future success.
Dear School Families,
We had a great time celebrating Catholic Schools Week this past week and are so grateful to have our own Catholic school right here in Wenatchee. We are extremely thankful for the collective community that works in cooperation to make our school what it is today! We look forward to the Lenten Season, which will begin on Ash Wednesday, February 14, 2024. We will have a school-led Mass at 9:00 a.m. on this day -please join us.
Here are some Lenten resources to use at home: NCEA, Loyola Press, Formed, Hallow. Enrollment is now open for the 2024-25 school year for new families. There have been many families calling and visiting the school who are interested in all grades. Our full day Preschool 4 class is nearly full and our Preschool 3 a.m. and Preschool 4 p.m. classes are also filling up quickly. We have several new families interested in sixth grade as well. Please continue to spread the word and invite your friends who may be interested in our program.
We look forward to our upcoming Family Math Night this Tuesday, February 6, in the gym with our expert guests from the NCESD, Lisa Monohan (STEM Coordinator) and Andy Boyd (Math Coordinator). Please join us for a presentation of effective teaching practices, mathematical discourse, and some fun math games and materials to take home. We hope to see you there!
The annual Have a Heart Auction is fast approaching (Saturday, February 24, 2024), and we need your help in making it as successful as possible. Please remember to procure items for the auction and sign up to help in some way. Many hands make light work! We are thankful for our auction leadership and would like to invite new leaders to step up to take on several chair positions in the 2024-25 school year. It is a great opportunity to serve and learn alongside our skilled leaders this year in order to take on leading the position next year. Please reach out for more information, and please join us at the next auction meeting on Monday, February 12, at 6:00 p.m. in the school library.
I pray that your month is filled with peace and joy, and I pray that you can create a quiet space to prepare to fully embrace and experience the upcoming Lenten Season. As always, please reach out with any questions or concerns that you may have. Thank you for your continued support and participation at the school and as the primary educators of your children.
Warm Blessings,
Lisa Martinez
