Mrs. Socorro Cervantes
Pre-Kindergarten Teacher
sgutierrez@saintjosephcatholicschool.org
Socorro has been a teacher since 2011, and has successfully served as a bilingual preschool teacher since 2013. After earning her AA Degree, Socorro took part in the Early Achievers Education Program, and, most recently, completed GLAD (Guided Language Acquisition Design) training, a research-based program universally designed to offer successful teaching and learning opportunities for all students, especially students who are English language learners. Socorro is bilingual and fluently speaks Spanish and English. In her words, Socorro explains what she loves about teaching. ”I absolutely love and enjoy teaching Preschool. I feel the need to introduce the learning experience to children by filling their magical minds with God’s love, joy, and the knowledge of being loved for who they are. It is a great satisfaction as a teacher to see all the hard work they put toward their goals and how proud they feel when they achieve their goals. Children encourage me to be a better person everyday, and to enjoy the little things God has created.”
Mrs. Jackie Henken
Pre-Kindergarten Aide
jhenken@saintjosephcatholicschool.org
Mrs. Jackie Henken, pre-kindergarten aide, has been making an immense difference in the lives of our students and staff since she started working with us in 2021, after volunteering at the school for six years. Jackie's son, Kameron, also graduated from our school in 2021, which makes her even more connected to our close-knit community. Jackie's love for our school and the students is evident in the way she talks about them with a bright smile on her face. She finds immense joy in seeing the students' bright smiles and witnessing their growth and development. Her passion for education and her warm personality make her a valuable asset to our team. When Jackie is not busy at work, she enjoys spending quality time with her family, soaking up the sunshine, and taking care of her beloved plants. Her love for nature and her nurturing spirit extend beyond the classroom, making her a well-rounded and caring individual. We are grateful to have Jackie on our team and are excited to see the positive impact she will continue to bring to our St. Joseph Catholic School community. Thank you for your dedication, Jackie!
Mrs. Anne Nelson

Anne has served at St. Joseph Catholic School as our dedicated and appreciated preschool assistant since 2017. Anne is a graduate and valued alumni of St. Joseph Catholic School Wenatchee, and in 2021, her daughter graduated as a third familial generation alumni (like mother like daughter)! Anne loves watching the kids grow into their own unique personalities and guiding them in their Catholic faith as they expand their minds through the grace of God. Anne says some things she loves about St. Joe’s are, “My love of children inspires me to serve at St. Joe’s. The children fill my heart with joy and purpose. St. Joseph’s is not just a school, it is a family. Children create lifelong bonds through this school and gain important tools that help assist them throughout their lives.”
