Seventh Grade Teacher
I am delighted to join your community and the school as St. Joe's enters this new and exciting chapter. St. Joe's is clearly a special place where students learn valuable lessons both academically and socially. I am a builder by nature and the opportunities in the coming years to create a robust middle school where students emerge as strong academic performers with a solid moral foundation who care about giving back to their community is a true gift when it comes to my work.
My family and I moved to the area in 2022 and since then I have been at home raising our two boys. Prior to fatherhood I taught middle school for eleven years, splitting that time between Boston and Seattle. During my time teaching I also played a role in creating many extracurricular programs for students such as a sailing program, a student garden, guitar lessons and founding a makerspace.
I came to classroom teaching a bit later in life after working as an Americorps VISTA for a non-profit mentoring program in Vermont and then spending time in a Honduran orphanage. I attended a graduate program through Boston College. This placed me into a middle school and began my journey as a formal classroom educator. When not teaching, my family and I can be found skiing, hiking, gardening and taking the occasional bike-picnic up Canyon Number 2. I look forward to what lies ahead and being a part of the whole of St. Joe's seventh grade and middle school.
