Honor Choir
Mr. Tom McNair
Honor Choir Director
Ironic that I am now an elementary school "music teacher" because, years ago (many), I decided not to work towards a college degree in music because I didn’t think I'd like teaching, and I did not think I was good enough to make a living as a performer. Ironic, because now I really enjoy teaching/directing the St. Joseph Honor Choir, and sometimes get paid to play my trombone!
Besides directing the choir and accompanying them on guitar, I enjoy playing in the Wenatchee Valley Symphony Orchestra as its Principal Trombonist, serving as President of the Symphony Board of Trustees, and leading my own jazz group, Jazz Jam Quintet.
In 1981 when we purchased our home here on Lowe Street, Mary Ann and I were pleasantly surprised to learn that St. Joseph School was only a block away. Our children, Ben and Abra, are both graduates of St. Joe’s. Both Mary Ann and I served on the school board and various committees, and I used to call "Bingo" in the school gym. St. Joseph Catholic School has been an important part of our lives ever since we moved to Wenatchee in 1981! Life is full of surprises, and I'm grateful for the unexpected path that led me to where we are today.
